Different tests exist to detect Alzheimer's
. The test used the most often is called MMS or Mini Mental State. It consists of briefly exploring several cognitive capacities of the patient while testing, notably his/her spatial and temporal orientation, the learning and remembering of 3 simple words, the capacity to recognize objects, language, and writing, the execution of a series of simple gestures. Other types of tests are possible when looking for early signs of the illness, but a positive diagnosis of the illness may require more rigorous tests.
