Pityriasis alba is a skin disorder of the pityriasis type, that is to say, a skin condition characterized by scaling, a sloughing of the first layer of skin. Pityriasis alba may appear on the body, but is most prevalent on the faces of young people. It appears as small, round spots, pink or whitish. They give a feeling of dryness to the touch, and can detach. The causes of their occurrence are still unclear, and hydration of the skin is recommended even if the lesions disappear on their own in most cases.
