Apothecary - Definition

Definition

Before the existence of pharmacists, apothecaries dispensed medications and healing treatments. They prepared the various ointments, creams, decoctions and drugs of the era with medicinal plants. An apothecary worked in a store, and sold his own masterful preparations. Apothecaries appeared in Antiquity and disappeared during the nineteenth century, following the obligation to obtain a diploma from the Pharmaceutical College, and the ban on selling medications outside of pharmacies.
