Definition

Though the sexual surrogate profession is not legally recognized in many countries, it is accepted in such countries as the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, and Denmark. The sexual surrogate is in charge of arousing sexual sensations in a sick or disabled patient. In some countries, the sexual surrogate profession is assimilated to prostitution, and paid sexual interactions are prohibited. Acts practiced by the sexual surrogate range from simple caresses to penetration. All emotional implications should be avoided.
