The taste is one of the five senses of the human being with
  • touch,
  • smell,
  • The views and
  • hearing.


Receptors differentiate flavors with some 4,000 sensory cells, of which 75% are located on the tongue.

They transmit their information to the prefrontal cortex of the brain through four different nerves, and in less than 150 milliseconds.
Then it can be the difference between salty, sweet, sour, bitter and glutamate thanksto the papilla located on the tongue, and whose number decreases with age also.
