Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant drug
, used especially to avoid the rejection of grafts after a transplant (of the heart, marrow, lung, kidney
, etc.). It also treats certain dermatological or rheumatological pathologies, such as atopic dermatitis
(including those in dogs and cats), psoriasis
, or rheumatoid arthritis
. Though effective, cyclosporine can potentially be dangerous for the kidneys
and opens the way to infection
as it disables the immune system.
