Definition

Cannabis is a drug that is illegal in most parts of the world. It provokes a host of physical and psychological reactions such as a feeling of well-being, euphoria, and heightened gaiety, but also anxiety, memory loss, and changes in arterial blood pressure. Furthermore, cannabis is suspected to increase the risk of schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder. However, cannabis is authorized in several European countries, in Canada, and in certain American states, where it is used to relieve pain, counteract nausea, and reduce symptoms of certain chronic pathologies.
