Definition

A clinical trial is a medical study intended to verify the efficacy and the tolerance of a molecule, a treatment, or a diagnostic method in human beings. These studies are generally performed first on cellular, in vitro models or on animals to validate their pertinence for humans. Clinical trials must respect scrupulous ethical rules and ensure medical and biological monitoring for each voluntary patient involved in the study.
