ICD-10 corresponds to the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD). This classification provides the codes for, among others, different diseases, symptoms, and causes as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). The list contains no less than 14,400 codes, with 16,000 more if optional sub-classifications are included. The ICD-10 list of codes primarily serves to provide a framework for and facilitate diagnosis.
