Hysterography or hysterosalpingography
is a medical imaging test to visualize the uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. A substance opaque to X-rays
is injected into the uterine wall and x-rays are done. The hysterography is less used since the advent of the hysteroscopy, which is less restrictive and avoids exposing the genitals to X-rays. The hysterography is nevertheless still practiced, especially in the evaluation of infertility in women, the search for defects or tumors
