Hello,

My husband has discovered some testicular varicose veins and the doctor has advised him to do a sperm count test. He is feeling uneasy about it and is hesitating to do it. What should I do?

We want to start a family, so need to know answers for this. My husband is a pessimist but I still have some hope. We have already talked about the different scenarios in the case the sperm count is too low. Are there any treatments? It might be that the only solution is we resort to surgery, but what is the percentage that it is unsuccessful and we can't have a baby?

Kindly waiting for a reply - I need to convince him to have the sperm count test, thanks in advance.

Hello,

We faced a similar situation to this when we learned that my husband had testicular varicose veins and he had to do a sperm count test. He had some worries about doing the test. We visited a specialist in fertility (for we were trying to have a baby for two years) and he said that my husband suffered from testicular varicose veins. However, I must tell you that surgery isn't always positive and in some cases can make things worse.

Yet, it is possible to have babies. Your husband can do the sperm test at home and get the sample to the laboratory within an hour. Get details from you GP It's worth a try!

Good luck!
