Is surrogacy safe? How do the clinics keep their surrogate mothers? Are they facilitated? Do we meet them?

Hi, there dear. I am happy to see that you have decided to take fate into your own hands. Surrogacy really is all it promises to be. Yes, it is a completely safe option. Of course, like any other medical procedure, things can go wrong. Despite that, it is relatively safe. As long as you opt for a well-reputed clinic, you should be okay. Try not to go for the shady looking clinics just to save a few bucks. The risks are generally higher there. As far as the surrogate mothers are concerned, every clinic operates differently. Some allow you to meet the SM while others don’t. Similarly, with some clinics, you have the option of selecting the SM yourself. This option is not available in all clinics though. The clinic I know about helps you find the SM. You don’t get to meet her until after the 12th week though.

Hello Reema Savans. Surrogacy is a great option for infertile couples. If this is your story too then you have made the right choice. Or if you want to help someone in this situation then recommending surrogacy is a good idea. The procedure is quite safe. There are the usual risks involved of course. Risks that can be associated with just about any pregnancy. Either natural or assisted. Apart from that, there is hardly any cause for concern. To make the process go by smoother, opt for a clinic with a name in the field. Make sure you check out the legalities associated with surrogacy in that area. The surrogate mothers are often chosen by the clinic. In some clinics, you can tell them that you want to work with an SM of your own choice. I would generally advise against that though. Clinics like these usually work with SMs often. So, they know what makes an SM a perfect fit. Therefore, they can make a better choice for you.

Hey. If you are an infertile woman who has just heard about surrogacy, I can understand what you must be feeling. On paper, surrogacy looks amazing. It seems to be just the solution you are looking for to end your fight against infertility. Well, I have good news for you. Surrogacy doesn’t just look good on paper. In fact, it is just as good in practice too. It has changed the lives of many couples longing for a child. Now, it goes without saying that the procedure isn’t fool-proof. Regardless, it is as close as it can get. Even natural pregnancies aren’t fool-proof. There are so many things that can go wrong there too. Like with any other medical procedure, the competency of the doctor plays a huge role. Same is the case with surrogacy. If the doctors know what they are doing, then the chances of complications are relatively low. I hope this answers your question.

Hi there. I think that I can answer your question better my sharing my experience. I am an infertile woman. I had tried many treatments and medications etc. Unfortunately, none of them bore fruit. I was dejected and had almost given up home. That’s when I found out about surrogacy. It was everything I had wished for. I contacted the clinic a friend recommended. They sent me all the details via email. All seemed satisfactory so my husband and I booked an appointment and headed over to the clinic. After the preliminary tests etc, we chose the egg donor. This was done using the database of donors the clinic provided us. After this, the clinic chose a surrogate mother. We could not meet her until the 12th week. After this, we remained in constant contact with her. The clinic made sure she was well cared for. The clinic even provided accommodation and health care for her.

Yes! Surrogacy is completely safe, and it has almost 100% positive results. And some of the clinics do provide with multiple attempts as part of their package. It is as safe as normal pregnancy is for a mother. There is no particular risk factor associated with surrogacy. Moreover, surrogates mothers are chosen with the utmost care they need to be healthy and fit, and they are facilitated throughout pregnancy. Either it is the medical facility or emergency treatments everything is tended by the clinic, and they also receive a paid compensation as per the contract. At the time of labor also clinical staff and expert doctors are there to attend the patient. There is no need to give a second thought it's completely safe for the Genetic mother and surrogate mother both.

It's glad to see such informative posts on this forum either it's a question or an answer. A healthy discussion leads to a solution to many problems and people are getting more aware of surrogacy. Yes, surrogacy is completely safe. The whole process is done with utmost care and under professional doctors who know their work very well. On the other hand, surrogate mothers are fully facilitated. Either it's medical help or consultation and support throughout. It's a whole nine-month process and, they are supported and taken care of from end to end.

Yes! Honey. Surrogacy is completely safe and sound. Actually, I prefer calling it one the greatest medical achievement of the 21st century. You can also search on the internet that many celebrities used surrogates to have a child. Well, as I've seen here in Ukraine. Most clinics do have really good care for surrogates. There is a clinic in Kiev from where I had it done. They had such an amazing facility for surrogates. They had them under observation; while respecting every expect of their health. They have them under nutritionists with proper diet for the child. I was pretty satisfied with seeing this all. I signed up for it. I'm really lucky to have this chance. We are planning to give another shot to it next year.

"Yep - as safe as houses :)
In today's times, the answer to the question ''is it safe'' can be found by confirming if it's a proven (by science) method. If the answer is yes, then you heard me :D
I was listening to a specialist on TV last week, and he kept on saying (forty-eight I can count) that surrogacy is safe if you select the right clinic.
Now, your question changes, right? What's the right clinic? Where can I find one? Well, happy to reveal. There's a clinic in Ukraine (the one like in Europe), I can't seem to recall its name... oh common, what was it called??? It had something to do with tax I remember. I will be sure to ask my husband this morning what's happening with my brain (he's a doctor, okay... a Ph.D.) Well, sorry, honey! I think I can dig it for you if you are interested. Ask for me from ladies here. They all know.
About the mothers - hmm, so if I'm understanding it correctly, you want to ask if they are regularly called upon for checkups. Yes. The nurses at the clinic, when suggested by doctors, take surrogates' blood tests, provide them with medication, etc.
Now comes the meeting part from - I think you get to meet them near to the due date, I'm not sure though. Hey ladies, does anyone know if they allow meeting the SM? In fact, answer, when they will allow so?"

Hey, Reema! Surrogacy is the safest procedure to have your own baby. Other procedures that are chosen by the infertile women to come out of their infertile condition have negative effects afterward and they are very less to be successful. However, surrogacy has always been the most successful procedure for the infertile women. It is totally safe because you will not have to do anything except just donating your eggs. The surrogate mother will carry your child and she will have to deal with all the other things during the pregnancy period. It is the responsibility of the clinic to take good care of the surrogate mother. Proper diet is given to the surrogate mother and she is under observation throughout the whole period. You are not allowed to meet the surrogate in the beginning of the process but later on, you can meet her. If you cannot visit the clinic to meet her the clinic can arrange Skype video calls for you to see and talk to the surrogate mother. Everything goes fine and you do not need to worry about anything. Stay blessed.

Hey! It is a difficult decision to make for every infertile woman and I know you also want to be sure with all the procedure details so you don’t have any worries later. I also cannot have a baby due to my heart disease and I also want to go for surrogacy after my treatment still does not proves to be a success and I will wait for a few years. I don’t have my experience to share with you but I can share an experience with women who told her story on a forum related to surrogacy. She had written that surrogacy is the most reliable and safe in every case. As the surrogate mother will carry your pregnancy and you will have to do nothing so it is totally safe for you. The surrogate mother will carry your child and it has also been passed by the law that you can have surrogate mothers to carry your child. They are given every facility to make themselves at ease. She also told that the food quality is very good that is served by the surrogate mother. You can meet the surrogate mother after a specific time of her pregnancy and the clinic will tell you the time when you can meet her. After reading her experience I believe that there is nothing to worry about. I also suggest you that don’t think such negative things and just proceed with the process. My prayers and wishes are with you. Hugs and love!

Yes! Its completely legal and safe dear. Well, I myself have a son through this process. Well, he really so intelligent and healthy now with us. I had surrogacy in 2015 and I visited every month there to see my surrogate, who helped us out of it and put me out of my misery. Well, I really think you should go for it. The clinic from where I had my procedure they had such an amazing take care of our surrogate mother; she was well accommodated. They take of their health on a very good standard. I don't know much about other clinics. But, from where I had it was in Ukraine and they had these all related facilities. I'm really lucky to have it all. You shouldn't overthink about it and go for it. It's really one of the perks of modern technology today.

"""Hi, Dianna,

Sorry to hear about your cervical cancer :(

I pray that you do come out of that victoriously and go for surrogacy option.

It's not big of an issue if you don't have your eggs, most of the reproduction centers have egg donors available. In case you want to use eggs of anyone you know, that too can be done but for that, she (person donating the eggs) would have to go through an egg donor screening to check if she qualifies.

My advice would be to not worry about these things at this time. Please take a good care of yourself. You are a fighter and we want you to continue fighting til' you get on the safer side of it. We know you will.

Good Bye!"""

Hello, surrogacy is completely safe to answer your question. It is in your hands to choose the surrogate mother and also the hospital in which she will be taken care of. Surely, the hospital will take 100% care of her. You just have to support yourself and the bearer of your child and you are half way there. Don't worry and keep your hopes up. Take care and all the very best!
