Cholesterol-Lowering Fruits


Fresh fruits contain a wide range of vitamins and are high in fiber.

They are also very rich in antioxidants that can have a hand in lowering cholesterol.

Fruits that Lower Cholesterol

Oleaginous fruits contain unsaturated fats that help to lower bad cholesterol levels. These include pine kernels, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, Brazil nuts, cashew nuts, macadamias, pecan nuts, and pistachios. Apples can also help to decrease the absorption of cholesterol and lipids in the intestines.

N.B. Coconuts and peanuts are not recommended because they are high in saturated fats.
