The Mayo diet


The Mayo diet is a very restricted diet which contains only 800 to 1000 calories per day and lasts for two weeks.


Negative aspects of the diet:

The diet can bedangerous as it is not balanced and very restrictive. Diets low in protein can cause muscle tiredness. Deficiencies in calcium, potassium and vitamins because of the insufficient intake in dairy products and fruits. The excessive consumption of eggs can causes an increase in cholesterol. Weight is regained very quickly after this diet

The only positive aspect:

This diets makes you loose 5 to 7 kilos in 14 days, but be careful, these kilos are very quickly regained.

  • Sugar
  • alcohol
  • Cooking fats / oils
  • Starchy foods
  • Dry vegetables
  • Dairy products

Authorized food

  • Celery, cucumbers, tomatos, salads
  • Eggs.
  • Fruit in small quantities.
  • It is possible to eat 6 eggs each day
