The Hollywood diet, pineapple or grapefruit

In the Hollywood diet you can eat fruits at will, except bananas.
The pineapple or grapefruit diet follow the same principle, but in these diets only pineapples or grapefruits are eaten.

All other foods are forbidden except you may have bread, starchy foods, meat at a rate of one or two meals per week but only after having strictly following the diet of eating fruits for 10 days.

Its positive aspect rests on the fact that it is easy to follow and that one loses weight quickly because it is low in calories.

Negative aspects of the diet

  • These diets can be dangerous as they can cause deficiencies in proteins and fat soluble vitamins.
  • It is difficult to carry on for more than 3 or 4 days of only eating fruits
  • It causes tiredness, muscle loss, as observed in fasting.
  • The failure rate is high
