Test for Alzheimer's - Definition

Ask a question

Different tests exist to detect Alzheimer's. The test used the most often is called MMS or Mini Mental State. It consists of briefly exploring several cognitive capacities of the patient while testing, notably his/her spatial and temporal orientation, the learning and remembering of 3 simple words, the capacity to recognize objects, language, and writing, the execution of a series of simple gestures. Other types of tests are possible when looking for early signs of the illness, but a positive diagnosis of the illness may require more rigorous tests.
