Neuropsychology - Definition

Neuropsychology is the study of the relation between intellectual, behavioral, and emotional processes, and brain function. This science is employed in many pathologies or psychiatric disorders to assess the psycho-behavioral state of the patient. Various tests are performed in order to make this assessment. Neuropsychology is currently often used for diagnosing certain forms of dementia or degenerative brain diseases, and allows for physicians to design the best treatment and follow-up.
