Nux vomica compound - Definition

Nux vomica compound is named after the vomica nut, which grows on the strychnine tree. It is a molecule used in homeopathy, available without prescription, in the form of a drinkable solution, pills, or pellets. The nux vomica is so named, according to some, due to its effect on difficult and painful digestive problems and to make it easier to go to sleep. This molecule, however, can be responsible for intoxication and symptoms that at times can be severe if misused.
