Bacicoline® collyrium - Definition


Bacicoline® is the commercial name of a drug containing an anti-inflammatory in the corticoid family, hydrocortisone and the antibiotic bacitracin. This collyrium is constituted from the solution of a small bottle of powder into a 5-ml vial of solvent. The Bacicoline® collyrium is used in the treatment of eye inflammations and infections which are suspected to be bacterial in origin. This drug is also recommended following eye operations, in order to prevent certain complications. It must not be used more than 10 days after being reconstituted.
