Ask a question

A fad is characterized by exuberant human behavior. The individual tends to exhibit enthusiasm or a particular persistence in achieving an activity. This fad can apply equally to a person or an object. It corresponds to the concrete realization of a fantasy. It is not rare, for example, to witness individuals succumb to what is called a diet fad. Often influenced by the media, he or she has a tendency to fixate on a certain food and to consume it in unreasonable quantities. The fad may also be fixated on another person, such as in the case of fans who form a fad around a celebrity.
