Bile duct cancer - Definition

Bile duct cancer is rare and usually affects people over 65. The diagnosis of cancer is often delayed because the signs appear in an advanced stage. Symptoms include jaundice, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, and a deteriorated condition. Ultrasound or a local sample enable the diagnosis of this tumor. The preferential treatment is based on a cholecystectomy which involves the removal of the gallbladder.
