Pancreatic cancer is a very aggressive cancer. The pancreas is part of the digestive system and makes the enzymes necessary in digestion and hormones such as insulin. Forms of cancer are found in the pancreatic gland are adenocarcinoma, but also tumors affecting the secreting cells of the pancreas, called endocrine tumors. Adenocarcinoma, by far the most common, appears through jaundice, pain in the upper abdomen, weight loss, or diarrhea. An ultrasound, CT scan, or endoscopic examination will identify it. Despite all types of treatment for cancer, the prognosis is not optimistic.
