Sciatica - Definition

Sometimes used to refer to hip pain from all causes, the term "sciatica" is often reserved only for tuberculosis of the hip joint. Sciatica of tuberculosis origin mainly affects children and the treatment is based on TB drugs and rest. In a more extensive way, other pathologies such as osteoarthritis of the hip, or coxarthrosis, or occasional inflammation (arthritis of the hip) can cause hip pain. Sciatica basically translates into localized pain in the hip, which causes limping.
