Rose hip - Definition

Used in alternative medicine for its antioxidant and anti-diarrheal properties, rose hip comes from wild rose bushes. Rose hip is also an excellent source of various vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamins C and A. Often used in medicinal syrups, rose hip is nonetheless a very good fruit to eat plain or in various dishes such as jam or ice cream. However be careful to remove its stinging "hair" first, which is also used to make itching powder.
