Iodine tincture - Definition


A dye is, in the medical world, a fluid into which certain molecules we want to force into action are dissolved. Iodine tincture therefore constitutes the dissolution of the active agent of iodine into an alcoholic solution. This is primarily used for disinfecting wounds, but also for superficial burns. This solution possesses anti-inflammatory and bactericidal properties and speeds up the healing process.
