Ayurveda - Definition


Ayurveda is a field of medicine practiced primarily in India, inspired by the Veda, a collection of sacred texts. Ayurveda revolves around several specialties, such as surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, demonic possessions, toxicology, the immune system, and aphrodisiacs. Ayurveda is based on dietary and hygienic principles, massage, and sweating. Medicinal preparations composed of oils and plants are applied on the body during massage.
