Bromazepam - Definition

Bromazepam is a medication marketed under different names, such as Lexomil. It is an anxiolytic (reduces anxiety), which belongs to the family of benzodiazepines. It is primarily used in cases of anxiety, stress, and also alcohol withdrawal. This treatment may, however, lead to dependence and must not be stopped suddenly. Cessation must be achieved through a gradual reduction in dosages, over several weeks or days, in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
