Kidney cancer - Definition

The kidney is an organ of the urinary system. Its principal role is to eliminate toxins from an organism through expelling urine. It acts as a blood filter in the body. Kidney cancer causes the appearance of malignant tumors (growths due to the rampant proliferation of tissues). It is one of the rarest cancers, comprising only 2-3% of diagnosed cancers. The diagnosis can be made after a medical exam and an abdominal scan.
