Ceftriaxone - Definition

Ceftriaxone is a powerful antibacterial antibiotic capable of resisting beta-lactamases, enzymes secreted by certain bacteria (Gram +, Gram-, and anaerobics). Because of its properties, ceftriaxone is used to fight numerous infections, especially severe respiratory and urinary infections. It exists in the form of a powder that may be mixed into a solvent to obtain an injectable solution (for intramuscular injection).
