Posology - Definition

Each drug has doses, minimum and maximum, to respect in order to be effective. The dosage is the study of these doses.
It gives the quantities to be taken for each drug and quantities not exceeded.
It studies, too, the rates at which drugs can be taken.
It establishes the doses of drugs to take in accordance with the patient's age, sex, physical condition and tolerance.

The dose is given on the order made by the physician and the medications manual.
