Penis pain - Definition

Definition

Pain in the penis is not very common in medicine, genital pathologies affecting men are more common in the testes. However, certain conditions affecting the penis are painful: this is the case of paraphimosis, a constriction of the glans by the foreskin, the penis can not be fully retracted. Peyronie's disease, which is characterized by pain and a deviation of the erect penis, as well as Fournier's gangrene are rare diseases. More commonly, trauma to the erect penis during intercourse or priapism, which is a persistent erection due to a lack of drainage of blood vessels in the penis, are very painful. Some infections may simulate penis pain.
