Liver ultrasound - Definition


An ultrasound is a medical imaging technique using ultrasound which enables the visualization of internal organs. The liver ultrasound can identify or monitor the progression of a lesion on the liver or on the bile ducts in that organ. In cases of jaundice, abdominal pain associated with the liver, or an increase in the size of the organ, among other causes, liver disease may be suspected and lead to an ultrasound.
