Bandages - Definition

Definition

Bandages are a therapeutic technique used by many health professionals. It consists in locally applying several layers of fabric to immobilize a joint, maintain a dressing, or exert pressure on a body part. Bandages can be especially helpful in providing time for immobilization and healing sprains and minor fractures, keeping burn dressings in place, and reducing a small hernia... They are generally used along with an ointment, or any other substance applied topically before the bandage.
