Support stocking - Definition

Ask a question

Support stockings are stockings whose elasticity can compress the leg and promote blood circulation and the rise of venous blood from the extremities to the heart. They are especially recommended for people with venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and more generally to relieve pain and heaviness in the legs. They can also be used to prevent the occurrence of venous thrombosis or phlebitis, under certain conditions. Depending on their height, we can distinguish support socks, mid-thigh stockings, or tights, and they are classified according to their degree of restraint. All can be bought in pharmacies on prescription.
