Erythema nodosum - Definition

Erythema nodosum is a dermatological manifestation in the form of one or more nodules, palpable, which can be red and hot. Erythema nodosum appears in the lower limbs and especially on the legs and feet. Generally, joint pain, fatigue, and fever are present. It may be the result of an inflammatory disease such as Crohn's disease, intoxication, medications, or an infectious disease such as tuberculosis (historically) or any other infection. The cause must be treated and rest is preferable. Generally, there is no relapse.
