The progression of a disease refers to the way it will heal, stabilize, or worsen. The progression can be positive, in this case the disease resolves itself spontaneously or with treatment. Minor relapses can sometimes occur, along with lasting complications, once the disease is cured. The prognosis of a disease may also be negative, and cause significant repercussions in the life of the patient or subsequent recovery can sometimes be obtained with heavy consequences. In some cases, getting palliative care will take care of the symptoms of the disease when there is no hope for a cure. The progression of a disease depends on its origin, early diagnosis, existing treatments, and implementation.
