Equity - Definition


In the field of health, the term equity returns to the notion of equal access to health care for all citizens. The actual lack of equity is nevertheless significant on a global scale, occasionally dire on a national scale, often due to financial barriers. NGOs such as the World Health Organization (WHO) or national associations strive to raise awareness and establish research and intervention programs to make steps towards health care equity.
