Ereuthophobia - Definition

Ereuthophobia is a type of social phobia that signifies the obsessive fear of blushing in public. Blushing of the face is generally associated with feelings of shame and with a fear of being observed and judged in a social situation, such as public speaking. Ereuthophobia affects around 1% of the adult population, but is more frequent among adolescents. This is the age when blushing, connected to biological causes, is the most pronounced.
