Sweet potato - Health benefits


The sweet potato is a vegetable which contains copper, manganese and vitamins A and B6.
In its purple variety, sweet potatoes contain anthocyanins deemed to reduce the risk of developing colon cancer.
In addition, the sweet potato has phenolic compounds which can reduce the phenomenon of bad cholesterol oxidation and therefore reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. This property is enhanced by sweet potato leaves which protects the lining of blood vessels.
Sweet potato also plays a role of liver protector, antidiabetic and positively affects the immune system.


100 grams of sweet potato are about an energy value of 100 kcal.
