Definition

Left hemiplegia is defined as a paralysis on the left side of the body as a result of an attack on the right side of the brain. In general, the right hemisphere of the brain is the non-dominant hemisphere. In cases of damage to the non-dominant hemisphere, specific symptoms may appear, related to the specific functions performed by this part of the brain. For example, negligence or non-recognition by the patient of the body part affected, as if it did not belong to them.
