Liposarcoma - Definition

Liposarcoma is a very aggressive, rare cancer that develops from fat cells. Malignant tumors are generally in the legs and abdomen. It manifests itself in the form of a lump appearing under the skin, and its similarity to lipoma, which is fortunately a much more common and benign tumor, will favor an analysis by biopsy of the tumor. First, an ultrasound may be performed. Surgical treatment, consisting of the removal of the tumor, is preferred. Surgery may be preceded or followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy is sometimes specified.
