Chin - Definition

Ask a question

Chin is the lower face, beneath the mouth. The chin is formed by the mandible (or lower jaw) on which the lower teeth are implanted. It focuses on each side with the temporal bone and is the only mobile bone belonging to the skull. The chin is mobilized by the masticatory muscles. There are several types of chin more or less pathological among which include double chins and triple chins (characterized by rolls of fat beneath the chin), and the progeny rétrogénies (malformations designating a position too late or too remote chin).
