Supraspinatus muscle

The supraspinatus muscle lies along the upper part of the shoulder. This muscle stretches between the scapula and the humerus. In conjunction with the deltoid muscle, the supraspinatus muscle allows for the shoulder to extend out from the body. The suprascapular nerve is the supraspinatus muscle's nerve supply. The principal disorder affecting the supraspinatus muscle is tendon tearing.
