Inner ear

Ask a question

The inner ear has the dual function of grouping together the central management of hearing, via the cochlea, but also the other organs involved in balance, in what is called the vestibular system. From an anatomical point of view, the inner ear consists of two separate units: the membranous labyrinth and the bony labyrinth. The inner ear may be affected by several diseases, caused in particular by taking medication or by excessive pressure variations.
