Hello,

since my last visit to the doctor because of a strong headache they discovered that part of the surface of my retina is torn apart.

Untreated retinal detachment results in the loss of visual function and hence to blindness, it is often located at the beginning but can generalize. Am very afraid so if you have the same problem let me know what I need to expect.

There are different types of detachments - have you had any surgery? What has the ophthalmologist advised you? Are you very myopic (short sighted)?

Hi, I had the same problem 2 years ago, when a tear occurred. The only treatment was surgical.

The operation involved creating scar adhesions between the retina and choroid using laser photocoagulation or cryosurgery.

Pre-and postoperative bed rest was required.

This is a long and difficult time but everything should be fine after that.
