Hello,
The whole process is guided by the hormones. The liquid is discharged if the person is not pregnant but if she is pregnant, the liquid is retained in the body. This liquid is normally retained for nurturing the egg. If the blood is not needed by the body, it comes out.
Kind regards.

Hello
How old are you actually? Yes when a girl goes through pubity they start to have a period every month (this is when the lining of the womb comes away and they bleed) Talk to your mother about this a gain some knowledge about biology.
