Hello,

I am a 42 year old woman and I'm separated from my husband. It's been some six months that I live alone. I want to have a baby. Is it possible to have a baby even if there's no father?

Thanks in advance, any answer is most welcomed.

Thank you
Hello,
At 42 you are wise to think long and hard about having a baby, as a single mum. Why not discuss this with your GP and get some guidence from friends and family. Who will be helping you through this time? Take care and good luck

Thank you
Do what you want. Think about 10 years from now. Will you be upset that you never had a child? I believe age 42 is the cut-off age for some hospitals to allow you to use donor sperm with your own egg. You can always try with someone, on your own. It will take a lot of patience. You can talk to your OBGYN about possible fertility medications to take (like clomid). You might want to just be aggressive about it now and not wait any longer. The older you get, the harder it gets to become pregnant. Good luck.
