Increasing the intensity of my work outs

Hello,
I have been told to increase the intensity of my work outs for losing weight. It's already been a week since I am practicing cardio exercises daily and I wish to know how I need to increase the intensity of my work outs. Can anyone please help me about it?

One method is increasing the duration time bu five minutes each week.
