Hello,

The external infusion pump is a medical device that transports liquids which includes the nutrients and medications to the patient's body in controlled manner. Various types of pumps are used all throughout the world in different hospitals and healthcare facilities. Doctors and patients both rely on pumps for safety administering intake of fluids and medicine. However, FDA discovered harms that compromise the protected use of external pump, which can lead to over or under infusion, overlooked treatment and impediment of therapy. Hence, FDA is taking an action to address the problems with regards to the used of infusion pumps to the Infusion Pumps Improvement Initiative.

Hope this can help
