Hello,

The thermometer determines the body temperature through a glass tube containing sealed mercury which expands or contracts when the temperature rise or fall. With the help of the small size of the bulb and micro size of the tube the mercury able to reach the temperature it measuring instantly. As the temperature ascends the mercury expands. The rate of expansion is measured in the glass scale. The Fahrenheit and Celsius are the two degrees can be found in the thermometer.
Through the emergence of technology innovative way of improving the usual thermometer come along the way. Electronics is now involved in measuring temperature: this device is known as the thermoresistor. As the temperature changes the resistance of the device changes too, a computer or electric circuit calculate the resistance and converted it into temperature.

hope this can help
